A 27th minute first-half strike by in-form  Tarnum Dooshima was all Nasarawa Amazons needed to secure their second away win of the season.

The travellers made real their pre-game intentions as they subjected Naija Ratels to their first league defeat in an energy-sapping duel at the popular Old Parade Ground football field, Area 10, Abuja, on Wednesday, to intensify their Super Six ambition.

In their separate post-match interviews, Coach Michael Olaoye of Nasarawa Amazons could not hide his joy for picking the maximum points on a difficult terrain.

"To the glory of God, our game plan was well executed against a youthful and energetic side.

"I am so overwhelmed by this result, even though we missed lots of goalscoring chances.

"We set a target for ourselves even before the league season began that we would ensure a 100 per cent home record and maintain the same feat away from home."

Goalscorer, Dooshima Tarnum, said, "I return all glory to God Almighty who enabled me to score the only goal  for my team today.

"It's team work and we hope to maintain the momentum in our subsequent games."

The prolific attacker already has four goals and an assist to her name this campaign, and yearns to keep scoring to earn her side a Super Six qualification and league title.

"I will continue to work hard to score more goals and contribute my quota to the success of my team", she added.

Today's result firms the Solid Babes' 2nd position status in Group 'A' of the abridged version of the Nigeria Women's Football League Premiership with twelve points from five games, with a game in hand.

The team will next be in action on Wednesday, next week, against visiting Confluence Queens of Lokoja at the Lafia City Stadium.
